Comfortable stay and close to the beach.
The hotel is a short walk from Haeundae beach, and the main shopping mall with restaurants and shops are just a little farther (approximately 500 m). Depending on the route one takes, the route to malls can be dark. There are no restaurants within a 100-200 m from the hotel. But there are 2 24-hour type convenience stalls where one can buy a meal from a chiller/freezer or shelf, and use the microwave in the store to warm/cook it. Breakfast is included in the package for us. The spread is decent but it is more for the locals (rice and hot dishes to go with the rice). There is bread and toaster. Breakfast hours are pretty short from 7 to 9.30 am. We booked a room for 3. The were two separate bedrooms and a living room, which was excellent and comfortable. Rooms are not very big, but the living room with a sofa helped in giving the room look big and useable.
No wardrobe to hang clothes - there was a rail with hangers to hang clothes. No iron in room. No restaurants that are within 100 - 200 m, and having to walk through some dimly lit areas to the restaurants. The area looked safe enough. Nothing really much to complain about. Just be aware that the hotel caters mainly to locals and Asians, so English is not understood by many of the staff. Then again, this might be true of the city but we stayed only 2 days to determine if English is generally not understood by people in the city. But translation technology was a tremendous aid in the city.

VFM hotel
breakfast was good and freshly made, but do not expect super high class cuisine, but it was delicious
neither ocean nor city view really exists because the hotel is stuck in between many buildings and even from top floor (where we had been) there is no view. But that was okay, we were more interested into exploring Busan

Overall it's a fantastic experience.
The location is fantastic, right in front of the haeundae beach. The breakfast is not bad, offering quite some options. The staffs speak proper English and they're happy to help the guests when it's needed.
